Editorial Policy

Alright, so you want to know about the editorial policy of this website. Well, here it goes.

Integrity and disclaimer

The majority of the content on this site are curated as a result of journalism work. For assignments, I am sometimes hosted and occasionally allowed expenses. As the content is not exclusive to Amateur Wine, I haven’t indicated the instances where I’ve been a guest.

Where a post is exclusively for Amateur Wine however, this is made explicit. The exception is in the case of wine reviews where majority of the wines are submitted for review although occasionally I will also add notes from my own “cellar”. Needless to say, my opinions are my own and do not reflect that of the producer or my host.

There are no paid-for links on this website but there are affiliate links. That is to say, if you do buy something through an affiliate link, which doesn’t cost you anything more, I will gain a small commission which helps to keep this site ticking along.

There are no sponsored posts, at least at present. But if in the future sponsored materials are posted, they will be cleared marked as such.

The display advertising is served by Google and you can find out more in the section on Privacy Policy.

For PRs and marketeers

Amateur Wine is aimed at consumers who love wine, maybe don’t know much about wine, but is interested in learning more. As such, the information rich website revolves around the question of “what can I learn about it?”

There’s a healthy mix of producer profiles, book reviews, interesting events and wine reviews.

And although Amateur Wine focuses on wine, it also explores other drinks too and includes liqueurs, spirits, coffee and tea. And anything else which might not fit into those broad categories.

If you represent a company which might fit into one of the categories on this website and are interested in working with Amateur Wine then please do get in touch. All the details are on my contact page.
